Once upon a time..... products were made to last. Then, at the beginning of the 1920s, a group of businessmen were struck by the following insight: 'A product that refuses to wear out is a tragedy of business' (1928). Thus Planned Obsolescence was born. Shortly after, the first worldwide cartel was set up expressly to reduce the life span of the incandescent light bulb, a symbol for innovation and bright new ideas, and the first official victim of Planned Obsolescence. During the 1950s, with the birth of the consumer society, the concept took on a whole new meaning, as explained by flamboyant designer Brooks Stevens: 'Planned Obsolescence, the desire to own something a little newer, a little better, a little sooner than is necessary...'. The growth society flourished, everybody had everything, the waste was piling up (preferably far away in illegal dumps in the Third World) - until consumers started rebelling...谁能想到以前的电灯泡能使用100年,看看现在,某某手机和部分家电一过保修期就坏了,南孚电池也越来越不经用了,袜子随便穿穿就破了,开始还以为是意外.万恶的资本家.真TM垃圾.Plan Obsolescence，还有消费文化的反思纪录片。之前看 BBC 三集反思消费主义元凶，这部也非常不错。看完这系列，虽然今年已经将近过半，我打算立个 flag，探索增长型社会之外的模式，并且践行到自己的生活中。这种阴谋论必须信啊，人类完蛋这个饮鸩止渴拉动经济的方法绝对是个主要因素。这部纪录片应该是给我把消费主义这个概念解释清楚的第一部作品。拍摄得怎么样我暂且不谈，但是确实是引发了我的思考。。这个片子打开了新世界的大门，原来资本主义社会还有这种卑鄙的伎俩？可以把价格卖高点嘛，等新东西足够好再报废，而不该计划报废。英语课的听力！当时只看了一部分 觉得蛮有意思 （真的挺好看的計劃性淘汰，iPhone手機電池事件，人類啊，有趣的。从为了成长而成长，到如今的为了生育而生育。大自然还能承受多少。/減少產生垃圾而繼續大量消費是現在的權宜之策，問題是這做法效率很低，地球繼續被破壞，而人類時日無多，統治階層應該知之甚詳，但我們還只是繼續不痛不癢的所謂環保活動，正如那位加納環保人士所言，我們的子孫將無法理解我們今天的愚蠢和麻木不仁。发展究竟是为了什么？ 把一个经济与社会的问题揭示得如此深刻，是这部纪录片的魅力所在。一方面Planned obsolescence能够刺激经济，维持就业；另一方面造成大量用品浪费环境污染。如何是好？
